Formulation, an essential link in the animal nutrition chain
Our business is based on three fundamentals: knowledge of nutrition, knowledge of the animal and knowledge of livestock farming techniques.
Our expertise, combined with this knowledge, has led to the development of nutritional standards for feed formulation – an essential link in the expression of livestock farming performances. These standards can be adapted to suit the genetics and objectives being pursued.
We reinforce this know-how by using targeted additives adapted to each zootechnical context. These additives are created by our research teams.
Our knowledge of raw materials, our asset
Knowledge of raw materials and feed formulation is at the heart of our business. They drive our know-how in livestock farming, providing our standards, nutritional balances and additives.
Our team of formulation specialists is dedicated to listening to our partners’ markets, both in France and abroad. They work in synergy with our nutritionists and with all the operators involved in feed manufacturing plants: formulators, buyers, production managers, quality managers, species managers and nutritionists.
It ensures, while respecting the independence of the feed manufacturer:
- The monitoring of markets and investigation of the interest of new raw materials,
- The monitoring raw materials and update of formulation matrices,
- The drawing up of specific nutritional standards for each species. Several international standards are taken into account,
- The setting up of control plans for customer partners,
- The formulation, whether in-house or decentralised, in a constant search for the technico-economic optimum,
- The organisational auditing of formulation-plant schemes and circuits at our partner customers’ premises.
Ongoing work to optimise the use of raw materials by animals.
Nutritional standards for the formulation of poultry and pig feed are an essential link in the expression of livestock farming performances.
IDENA develops formulation standards based on its research and field experience.
Specific ratios between nutrients are also proposed. Their aim is to optimise digestion and improve production costs.
These standards are structured into nutritional programmes. They can be adapted to suit each livestock farming context, genetics and the environment of each country.
The laboratory, where it all happens
The IDENA laboratory is equipped with an infralyser that enables us to analyse the raw materials or finished products of our partner customers, as well as offering Near Infra Red (NIR) calibrations to those who are equipped with an infralyser.
What is NIR?
NIR is an analysis technique that provides information on the biochemical composition of foodstuffs and raw materials more quickly than conventional chemical dosages.
It therefore provides rapid access to the composition of products (quantitative dosages) and enables a product to be identified on the basis of its spectral fingerprint (qualitative dosages), while reducing the cost of these analyses.
For chemical analyses, IDENA is a partner of several Cofrac-certified laboratories. With their access code, our customers can retrieve their analysis results via a direct link on our website.
